Actually the reason I'm going for the DS is because it's a step in the right direction in doing what is best for the customer, I'm a firm believer in the free-software movement that has produced stuff like GNU/Linux, firefox, kde, gnome, mysql, apache, gcc && many other pieces of great software that respect a persons freedom.
With the Nintendo DS' shared multiplayer function it's a great step towards doing what is good for the customer instead of trying to find more ways to squeeze money out of everyone.
I'm not getting a PSP because it is too DRM ridden (digital rights management). I used to be a sony fanboy, not anymore, screw sony, they are just another company trying to get a monopoly.
The DS is also very innovative, and if used well could change how games are played, when I get my DS it'll be my first piece of Nintendo hardware ever, and I'm looking forward to it.
