If you rip from a CD to .wav then convert it to .gbs it sounds a little better but still has noticable sound loss, especially soft songs or songs with quiet parts. It says that you can play .wav files directly without converting them (I havent tried it yet) but this of course would take up way too much space per song.
As far as the packing program I've only found one for the nes. It was called nespack.exe actually. I got it packaged together with a movie player advance version of pocketnes. Just search for pocketnes_compy and you should find it. Like I said I havent found one for the gb but if I do I'll let you know because there aren't that many games that are under 256k with the emulator (goomba).
