RE: nintendogs OR advance wars Dual strike

Note to Mods, I wasn’t sure where to put this so feel free to move.

Well today i went to the Northampton Balloon Festival, which was where the Nintendo All star tour is for the next few days.
Below are my impressions on the games.

Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Upon getting to the Nintendo section, i immediately jumped into the queue for Twilight Princess. Luckily I was next in the queue, so after waiting for 10 minutes i finally got a go. There were two 15 minute demos to choose from. I choose to play the one where you had to rescue a villager (didn’t catch the name, i just skipped the text, wanted to play!) on horseback.
Horseback combat is amazing and is defiantly one of the best aspects of the game. Graphics are superb and really does put you in a dark and grizzly world. Controls are pretty much the same from those of The Windwaker. I really enjoyed the fighting, it has a really epic feel to it.
About 45 minutes later i returned t briefly play the other demo, whichi think is just doing farm chores, i believe this is the first level of the game. in the first part, you have to gather all the farms animals while on horseback into the den, there is more i.e riding in boat but i had to go.

Mario Kart DS
This is the one i wanted to play. Before hand i was a little sceptical about how a fully 3-D MK would handle with out an analogue stick, but fears were laid to rest. There were 2 cups to choose from- Nitro and Retro, i choose to play Nitro first. Graphics are brilliant and the pictures of this don’t really do it justice. In screen vie seen, it looks a tad blocky but it runs perfectly smooth. From what i played there were only 5 or so weapons, and they are - 3 mushrooms, bom-omb, 3 green shells and 3 banana skins although i did get struck by lightening. The retro cup was a nice touch and Luigi Circuit from MK:DD looks almost identical from its GC counter part. I played with Toad and Peach, who handle really well. Speaking of which handling in the game is spot on. Controlling with D-pad works better then you would think. There really isn’t much touch screen use in the game, but you can tap it to change map views.

New Super Mario Bros.
Another one is was looking forward to. I don’t think i got more then 15 minutes with this but it was great fun. Graphics on this are what i really like and if this 2-D is what we get then im perfectly happy. If you’ve seen the screen then you know what im saying by 2.5-D.
3 levels are playable on the demo, these being - Sand, i think stone castle and just standard Mario bros i.e. grass.
Mario was only playable on the demo. The touch screen is used to show you your items and you can carry up to 3 at a time and touch said item when needed. Gameplay isn’t too far removed from the other Super Mario Bros games which is defiantly a good thing.

Nintendogs
I really cant say much about this, as i didnt get more then 3 minutes with it. You oculdnt buy any dogs in the demo but you could "look". I choose one of the 3 dogs and started patting it on the head. Interaction is great , i also looked through the items and toys, i threw a balloon and my pup responded well with it. Graphics are great on this and are life like.

Super Mario Strikers
I was Pleased to see this as i wasn’t expecting it.
I had a quick game, i had Mario’s team whilst playing against DK's.
Its fun arcade style soccer, with sort of "game breakers" that you would find on EA street games.

Well those are all the games i played, i saw Pokemon XD which looked great and Mario Tennis Advance which looks scarily like its GC brethren.
Thats it from me.
(these are just brief, if the site would like me to right more or go into further detail then i will).
