The launch for the system is not nearly as bad as some may think. As much as I have my list of cons with it, it sold well, considering how many units were made.
They sold around 180,000 (I believe) out of 200,000 on its first day. That's around 80% of the units made in one day. That's no small feat. Sure, it's far behind in overall sales in the Japanese market...but nonetheless, they're still behind, and I expect them to be for at least a little while now.
