Nintendo JPN Press Event!

The conference has ended! Today...was not Nintendo's day to shine. But instead to smack us in the face with a harsh little thing called "reality".

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This just came in...the Seattle Post Intelligencer has posted a story from the New York Times' Seth Schiesel saying the Wii will launch in North and South America for $250 on Nov. 19. Is he for real? It's a higher price than we were expecting...let's hope for more, which should be coming in the next hour or so...

IGN and Gamepot seem to be confirming this...

Update 1: Starting!

Update 2: VC Prices!
NES ~$4, SNES ~$6, N64 ~$8.50

Update 3: Famitsu reports 30 Nintendo games and 30 PC Engine/Megadrive (Turbo-Grafx/Genesis) games before end of year. Ten new virtual console games every month!

Update 3:
December 2 launch and 25,000 yen (w/ tax) price for Japan.

Update 4: Only one controller included. Twilight Princess reconfirmed as launch title. At least 16 launch titles for Japanese launch titles, plus the virtual console games.

Update 5: Press Release. What's in box detailed:
*Wii Console ×1 *Wii Remote and strap ×1 *Nunchaku Attachment ×1 *AC adapter ×1 *AV cable ×1 *Console Stand ×1 *Wii Auxiliary Plate??? ×1 *Sensor Bar ×1 *Sensor Bar Stand ×1 *AA Batteries ×2

Update 6: Confirmed rest of the world to know their localized details in the next few days (i.e. tommorow?)

Update 7: Miyamato just beat Japanese tennis pro Sugiyama at Wii Tennis. Japanese teen idol Hayashi is playing Brain Training...

Update 8: Looking into official exchange rates, the prices come to:
Wii Console: 25,000 Yen (
~$250 USD)
Wii Remote: 3,800 Yen (~$30US)
Classic Controller: 1,800 Yen (~$15US)
Nunchuck Attachment: 1,800 Yen (~$15US).

Update 9: Wii site up. Videos include the Wii menu, a Wii version of Google Earth / Weather Channel?, the Wii character editor (remember Shiggy in Wii Tennis at E3?), and what looks to be possibly the Wii browser...

Update 10: Boxart anyone?

Update 11: Apparently Nintendo of Japan is disagreeing with the NY Times report. Says all will be revealed at US Press Conference later today.

Update 12: That's all folks. It ends with one last trailer...
