Nintendo Fusion Tour '06

The annual Nintendo Fusion Tour has been a huge success for Nintendo over the years, and is becoming one of the major concerts to hit the U.S. every year. Having started in 2003, Nintendo's Fusion Tour has provided early exposure for then-developing bands such as Evanescence, Story of the Year, My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy and Panic! At the Disco. The tour has expanded from 25 dates in 2003 with 90,000 in attendance to 45 last year with more than 160,000, according to Nintendo.

As well as providing awesome music, the tour has many playable booths of upcoming games and systems. 2004's selling point was that you could go in and play the DS before it came out. This year's selling point is just as awesome, too... Nintendo Fusion Tour '06 will feature playable Wii demos, as well as demos of upcoming Nintendo DS games.

Starting Sept. 27 at each of the tour's 35+ stops around the country, multiple Wii consoles will be hooked up and ready to play, along with a variety of hot Nintendo DS games like Elite Beat Agents. Concert attendees can pick up the unique Wii Remote controller and start playing, regardless of their video game experience.

Some of the Wii titles scheduled to make the rounds on the tour include Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Wii Sports, Excite Truck, WarioWare: Smooth Moves and Activision's Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam.

Headlining this year's tour is Hawthorne Heights, and support includes Reliant K, Emery, Plain White T's, and The Sleeping. So go enjoy the great music and be the first to play the Wii, long before the Wii actually comes out =D
