I find the worldwide match rank filter to be a lot friendlier than the local filter, only about 20% disconnectors/glitchers. The first 5 star I ran into since I recently started using that filter never disconnected and I beat him. I managed to gain about 50 points easily on that filter (around 450 now). My blood pressure is a bit lower now because of it.
