Count the number of buttons on the GCN controller. With various combinations of these buttons you can produce any attack or movement command, correct? Now, consider how many different things you will likely be able to do with the wiimote - you can move it slowly, you could jerk it, and it's location will probably matter. If you're required to move the wiimote in a certain way to preform various attacks, you instantly lose precision. What if your hand is trembling while you're trying to execute an attack that requires you to have it in an exact position? I haven't used the wiimote yet, and I'm sure they've built in some leeway, but a limited number of buttons executed in a planned order is 100% more precise than being able to move a controller in any direction and yield different results. It's a cool technology, but not for a fighting game.
