It's not all that hard to avoid shadow freeze, especially on bigger maps. Just keep in mind that even when it's easy to avoid, there's still a reasonably high chance of the death freeze. About half the time I'm frozen I'm victim of a death freeze attempt, yet barely half of those attempts actually kill me. I guess it goes to show that even with a clear shot, it takes a good deal of skill to master the Imp. Fortunately the shadow/death freeze and Omega Cannon are as lame as it can possibly get in any rule book, and fortunately most people are against them. The way I see it, if there is a power that can be defended and countered against with about equal difficulty and skill, in most cases it's fair.
