Actually I doubt most of us know about DPG's, I found out about it right after I got my R4DS about a month ago.

I suggest only linking to the legal ones, no copies of full retail movies or any of that. I don't think there's as much of an issue with TV shows, especially old shows that don't air anymore such as TechTV (which I do have in DPG).
Video podcasts and anything else released for free are perfectly fine.
Most of the reason is to avoid any potential liability issues it could put TDS into, and I guess the rest is my morality influence at work.

I've actually been using my DS to watch/listen to all my podcasts ever since I got my R4DS, and I've watched Matrix Revolutions (it was just over 300MB with perfect quality) for the first time on my DS and am in the process of converting Star Wars 3 and plan to watch it for the first time tonight in the comfort of my bed.

Edit: I reduced the bitrate of the audio a little bit on the Star Wars DPG and fit all 2 hours 20 min. in 288MB, not bad compared to some 2 hours 9 min. of Matrix taking 306MB. Based on my tests with MP3's, the drop in bitrate from 128kbps to 96kbps shouldn't cause any noticeable drop in quality, especially considering the sample rate was at 32KHz while my testing was done at 44KHz. My next step would be to find the optimum bitrate for the video, which I think might be a little more of a challenge. By optimum, I mean the lowest bitrate (to keep the file size small) while keeping the quality high enough so I couldn't tell the difference when comparing it with the highest bitrate.
