What I was thinking, down to the very word.
If it's a life-threatening disease that causes them much pain and anguish to the point where they're taking all kinds of meds just ease the pain, then I'm all for it. I mean, you are going to die eventually because of it, so I'd think it more humane to just end it sooner rather than later. Now, a situation where a condition does not inflict mortal consequence (disease or fatal injury) I feel is not reason enough to go through with assisted suicide. At that point, you still have the possibility of continuing your life. I wouldn't participate in any assisted suicide or let it occur in such a case, simply because there's no guarantee that they will die within X period of time.
Even then, if terminally ill and the like, I'd have to have their consent to do so. Not just gonna go unplug-happy based off my analysis.
