The DS only works with WEP encryption, not WPA. Changing it to WEP should fix your problem.
You will need to create another key when you change it to WEP, and the DS only uses the first of the four WEP keys.
Don't listen to Arthur, he apparently doesn't know what a router is. It seems he thinks the DS Wifi USB adapter is a router. Routers aren't dependent on the operating system you use and you don't need to use a CD to get a router working correctly.
