You will need to create another key when you change it to WEP, and the DS only uses the first of the four WEP keys.
That's what I thought so I'm going to try it tomorrow when I can get my mum to log on to the admin account to change the settings to from WPA to WEP. I'm really unsure about doing this though because of the following statement that I fould on Wikipedia.

At first glance, it might seem as though Shared Key authentication is more secure than Open System authentication, since the latter offers no real authentication. However, it is quite the reverse. It is possible to derive the static WEP key by capturing the four handshake frames in Shared Key authentication. Hence, it is advisable to use Open System authentication for WEP authentication. (Note that both authentication mechanisms are weak).
If I do change it then would I change the Network Authentication to Open or Shared? Will outside users be able to access our wireless or is it secure enough to stop this? Is it worth risking the security of our internet just so I have the ability to play DS games online? If I don't change the wireless settings to WEP encryption then would a normal USB dongle work with the DS? Or would I have to get the official Nintendo Wireless USB Connector?

Don't listen to Arthur, he apparently doesn't know what a router is. It seems he thinks the DS Wifi USB adapter is a router. Routers aren't dependent on the operating system you use and you don't need to use a CD to get a router working correctly.
Figured
