Look at the dictionary for the definition of "joke", it's defined as something to make people laugh and nowhere does it say anything about being a false comment. It wasn't quite a joke, it was more like kidding, and you all should've learned long ago that kidding is also lying.
About me being naive, you apparently haven't been paying attention to what I've been saying. The way you presented it in your example, it's not lying. Arguing the case of say, one of the objectives that a candidate has when you don't support that candidate, also isn't lying. Pretending to support the candidate when you really don't is lying, which in simple terms almost means you'd need to say "I support this candidate". You can even say "I think this candidate would make a good president" while not supporting that candidate and still not be lying.
My whole point (against you) about lying has been focused on your comment about not caring about people on the internet, not on arguing for something you don't believe in.
I'm not saying you're trying to avoid something big against you, I'm just saying you seem to be avoiding the topic against you because you're constantly shaping the argument to focus on "arguing the case of something you don't believe". As a matter of fact I don't recall if you've said anything in this "debate" that even acknowledges the existence of your earlier comment (the one I keep trying to focus on).
I'm not debating whether anything that already happened is morally correct or anything, that's not worth debating. I'm debating whether the attitude, or the way of speaking that Mormon has more often than rarely is morally correct. If it can make anything better, the debate will go on until some sort of agreement can be made or one of us drops out of it. I hate debates, but my passion for making something better through debating outweighs that. Debates compose most of the drama that TDS ever gets, and I prefer that to breakups of relationships and people just having a bad day, which makes up most of the rest of the drama.
Maybe the debate posts should be moved into a new thread in the Debate forum so this thread can get back on topic, I might just do that. Edit: Ok, I just did that.
