I seem to be having a little trouble connecting my DS to the router, only with one odd difference. The difference being I've connected to the internet using the same router and DS before, but it suddenly stopped working today.
My router is a NETGEAR RangeMax ADSL Modem Wireless Router DG834PN. I have previously managed to connect simply by searching for an access point, however earlier today I received error 52000, which means I had to swith Auto-obtain IP Address to No and manually input my Modem's information into the connection settings. Aftter inputting all the required information, I clicked on Test Connection again, and after a couple of minutes, the test fails and I receive the following error.
Error 52100
Unable to connect to Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Confirm connection settings and access point settings. For help, visit uselesssite.whatever.
So I went on the Nintendo Wi-Fi help website, and it said either the modem is not connected to the internet (which of course, I am, otherwise I would not have been able to post this message), or my modem has a built-in firewall that's interfering with the signals of the Nintendo DS, which never stopped it in the past five months, so I wonder if it actually does have a firewall or not, and if it does, then why it hasn't kicked in until now.
A couple of theories I may have is the fact that my laptop broke a couple of months ago and I had to switch from Vista back to XP, although the modem is still working just as well as it did on the Vista, and I managed to connect using the DS while I was using the XP, or the more likely theory is that it has something to do with the fact that I just downloaded the Nintendo Channel on my Wii and used it to send a demo to my DS, which made me think if somehow I have to boot up the Wii in order to connect my DS to the internet now, which seems pretty ridiculous.
