Photshop/Illustrator is like the best pic editor combo I've ever used.Try it. I have Adobe Creative Suite 2 Premium from LimeWire. It's in Japanese but you should definitely get it from LimeWire. It's the Ultimate Picture editors ever. You'll also need a keygen.

Sparks, I've used it. And I hate it with a passion. It's just very user-unfriendly...

Lite, explain to me why those two combo so well? Does one not do everything the other does?

Oh... Ok. I spose it's just a question of how much you can put up with. Personally, i find it quite good, if i've got the patience... but to be fair, it's the only thing i could find in a hurry that was free.

For free, it's an AMAZING program, and I will always highly recommend it as an alternative to Photoshop...

But when you HAVE Photoshop, I mean, come on...

Yeah, i spose so. Side by side, Photoshop pwns GIMP.

I met someone on DA that does freakin' amazing pictures on their computer. I can't remember if they said you have to pay for it or not, but they use Painter 9.
And if they get those kinds of results, i'm going to try and get it.
