Slashing… flying… and using the force… the 3 best things about Star Wars: Revenge Of the Sith for Nintendo DS. I haven’t played many side-scrollers, but I like this one the most. It is a lot like the old Ninja Turtles arcade game that I use to love. But normal slashing can get boring, that’s where Jedi powers come in; you customize your Jedi(either Obi-wan or Anakin) to have the force bowers and special moves that you want. Every time you beat a level to can add stats to your Jedi. Both Jedi are different: Obi-wan is more of a mind combat where the force is used to heal, block, push and pull for him. Anakin, on the other hand, is more aggressive and his powers consist of mainly physical attacking.
The game play seems to follow the movie plot (even though it’s not out you can kinda guess from the commercials) and is very fast paced. There are things popping out of doors, flying through the air, and dropping from the sky. Now to the best part of the game: the dogfights in the sky. These are awesome… even though its multi-card multiplayer, you can still play by your self or play with 3 other bots. You can customize the kills, time, ships, difficulty, and choose from 8 different areas.
The graphics are mainly cartoon inspired but are very vivid and fit the game well. The backgrounds are similar to the previous levels but are still fun and full of hidden items. In the beginning of the game the famous word scrolling from all the movies comes and explains the game (very cool).
The sound is very smooth and sounds great. It sounds as if it you were listening to the movie’s soundtrack. Overall this is one of the best DS games I have played.
It has little innovation except for sound and graphic wise but has a good use of the touch screen while flying (you control the hull and your damage and heat levels). This is a must for anyone who loves side-scrollers or loves flight sims.
