how is somehting that is INCORPATED INTO A GAME a cheat? that is a bit beyond me..

i mena, sure, it's not just flat out said in the manual or anything, but regardelss, it's physics..

btw, it's possilbe to wavedash in real life.. so if i do that.. am i cheatign in life?

It was a mistake by the developers. It was not meant to be part of the game. It is an exploit, which are forms of cheats. Whoever called out the fanboys anyway? I tried to start an intelligent debate, and you guys show up. Just because it's in the game doesn't mean it was meant to be.

wavedash: jump and before you visibly leave the ground air dodge diagonally into the ground.
l-cnacel: after using an areil a attack, if the attack has not ended before you land press L/r/z the moment you land. Reduces lag

Really now. I've been playing intense four player matches with my friends since I bought the game with my cube years ago. The game doesn't lag hardly any, much less enough to constitute resorting to exploits. Of course, maybe that's because I never use items. Only skill wins in our games.

Also, this isn't solely about these smash bros exploits. It's about cheating in general. These are cheats, and these are tournaments. The two should never go together.

do this: use Marth's ariel down a *from now on, knwown referred to as dair* and have one person L-cancel it, and have the other person don't.

do you see any lag? i bet you do ^_^

edit: oh, and if you wanna see good lag, go get 4 Ice Climbers and go to big Blue <_<

mmm...4 player matches. real test of skill.>_> yeah shadowmarth you don't know what you're talking about. L-canceling and wavedashing were put in the game on purpose...you see there's three versions of the game and 4 including PAL. and in each one they took gliches and things out of the game and made small improvements...like lengthening the home-run contest field and removing the super link jump glitch...and you know what else.They didn't take out wavedashing or L-canceling

Sorry, when people start blindly insulting my intelligence I skip over their opinions. Anyone like that can't have much to say anyway.

One more thing I'd like to add: I thought it quite prudent to post the debate here rather than on an SSBM forum. Here, people wouldn't make snap judgments, because they didn't have preformed opinions like yours. Hence, I posted here to avoid the bias you have brought. This site is a community of DS loving gamers of all sorts, not just SSBM fans.
