This one was just too good to let die (despite both darkmatter and bignds's complete lack of grammar and punctuation), and I want in on it more anyway.

ok lets see the killer apps for DS-MK,MP:H,MB,AC,M thats 5. killer apps for ds. for psp GTM,GTA,SOCOM,CC:FFVII, L thats 5 killer apps for psp.
while i admit that a few of the killer apps for the psp are obviously not on level with some of the DS' killer apps, they will still sell and be brilliant games.
mod lets keep this a non-bashing topic as theres system wars for this.

Wait a sec, CC:FFVII? Socom? Let's see, the fifth "continuance" of FFVII announced lately and a fps for a game with only one analog "nub"? I don't think so. And L? What is L? For that matter, what's the "M" in the DS list? The new mario game?
Bignds

l for lumines and m for meteos.are you sayingyou can oly play a fps with an anologue stick? then how did you play metroid on your ds? dont say it was touch screen control as everyone hated those controls.

What are you talking about man? Who is this "everybody" you refer to? It's like a PC mouse! It's a perfect control! I'm not saying that two analog sticks are required, coded arms proved that, but it certainly plays better! Nowadays it either has to have an inventive control scheme, PC controls, or dual analog control for people to play it. They just won't try otherwise.

yea i love the controls for metroid, it feels exactly like a PC

FPSs just don't play well on the PSP with that little nub.

SOCOM will still rock, the controls will work, you just wait and see.
i also just remembered devil may cry, which will also rock.

I'm not going to listen to you, BigNDS, till you take back your comments on the Metroid controls :p

Got Chuddy's demo on Friday, even though I don't have the thumb strap, the stylus control was still great. I beat his scores on Survivor and Morph Ball, but the guy seriously rocks on the other one (forgot what it's called, now...)
Bignds

i didnt mean the controls in general, i loved the aiming with the touch screen, but alot of sites and magazines were happy it was taken out of the actual game.

yes they droped the touch screen controlls whats next there bignds the psp actually has a touch screen but sony dosnt want people to know about it and to say that socom will rock on the psp sure and when you come back to reality you will see that it wont coz gamespot hated and i say hated the controlls for ghost in the shell and thats a fps so unless there a whole new way to use you psp that no one knows about all fps will have he same controlls for the psp and that means they all will suck

im sorry to turn this into asystem war but bignds needs to be put in his place on this one

show me the sites that bag the metroid prime hunters touch screen controlls please i would like to see them for my own eyes i bet so would alot of others on this site

the only thing the psp or for that matter sony are good for are racing games and since ypu play one you've played them all its no biggy i mean come on GTR will soon take over the FF in numbers what are they up to GTR 5 already and there all on the PS2 arnt they thats milking it abit much dont you think

"socom now in the every great card formate" "ha ha i blocked your shot whit my shield card ha ha and now you need to shuffle your deck and put half your cards in the grave yard ha ha "
Bignds

oh fiesty.
ha man didnt know i hit a nerve.
your right man this isnt system wars but hey i can lower down to your level for a moment.
ok in the GC version of Metroid Prime, i only ever used the one anologue stick and i finished it with a month, it shows games can be played with one anologue stick.
they wernt complaining about the metroid prime hunters controls in general just the shooting/aiming with the touch screen, read it more carefully next time. i think it was ign or NOM who had an interview with the developement team of the game and were happy when they said they have taken it out of the actual game.
by GTR you mean gran turismo? milking it? alright i love nintendo as much as anyone of you but youve forced me to say this. nintendo have milked, pulped, skimmed and bottled the mario franchise. mario baseball? what the fcuck? now i think thats milking it. and dont say its a new idea of gameplay as its not, its just another game they see they can slap the mairo name on. whats next, "mario now in the every great card formate" "ha ha i blocked your shot whit my shield card ha ha and now you need to shuffle your deck and put half your cards in the grave yard ha ha "? also , since you said, once youve played one racing game youve played them all, then same could be said about mario kart, whats different between the new ds version then snes version? nicer graphics, new items, new racers, new tracks, online, (all can be said about all racing games but instead of new items new mods/cars).
and try and sound less fanboyish next time, and worry about more important issues in life.
Darkmatter
Quote:
why is mario in a card formate i still stand by my comment on GTR and for mario kart one game per console thats what i was getting at except nintendo are making a second mario kart for the GC but its not a double dash sequal it standard mario kart sony have made at least 4 GT games for the PS2 why coz they have nothing eles to offer

Quote:

ok in the GC version of Metroid Prime, i only ever used the one anologue stick and i finished it with a month

so you never turned around i see unless you morphed balled to turn around and then got out of morph ball to shoot to open a door and so forth thats so beliveable why didnt i think of that gee you just made the game a whole easier -insert sarcasm

mario bassball goes along side mario tennis and mario golf

thier sport titles i perfer the mario sport title compared to the "real" ones its more about fun then wining really
once again its not like nintendo are making 4 mairio baseball titles for the same console now are they

and if you missed what i implied wiht the card formate let me give you a hint Metel 'cough'gear'cough' acid 'cough' and wiat did i here there making number 2 yay that will be great go sony

Darkmatter v Bignds FPS debate

Ok bignds, I have to agree with comma-less bob over here. Of course in MP you only used one analog stick for steering, that was the great innovation of that game. That wouldn't work for a real action FPS though, and it only worked because of the lock on. Metroid wasn't about the shooting, it was about the exploring, the atmosphere, and the experience.

Now you've pulled a kerry on the Hunters issue. You've blatantly said that "everyone hated those controls", later to say "i didnt mean the controls in general, i loved the aiming with the touch screen, but alot of sites and magazines were happy it was taken out of the actual game."

Sure, Coded Arms sucks, but the controls are said to not be entirely bad. Maybe it'll even be used in some decent games, but let's see it be as fun as a dual analog game like Halo, or half as fun as some PC games like Unreal Tournament.

As for the Mario comments, that was just a shot below the belt. Every game with mario's name on it is guaranteed to be good. Maybe not an amazing blockbuster hit, but when they put mario's name on it, they don't just shove it out, they put work into it, and it shows.

Maybe bigDS just sucks at using the touchscreen. Are you sure you're holding it right? You can use the side of you palm on the right hand to balance the DS.

PSP's Coded Arms' controls are used similar to N64's controls. Where the C buttons are the movement and the analog stick is for looking. It worked perfectly for me. So, I have yet to play CA but I'm sure the controls are as good. And Ghost In thhe Shell's controls dont use it, oddly, but it'll most likely be an optional control.

And DM, have you even played MGA? If not, then just shut up. It's an excellent game.

Btw, man, it's hard to argue when I yours posts are just one sentence. =/

What Game?...Hmm...

I have to chime in here. MGA was a decent game, not an excellent one. There have been other games of similar make that have handled it much better. The card system was... Ok at best. If you'd ever played X-Com you'd laugh at that thing like the junk it is in comparison.

Also, though I struggled through it, darkmatter's posts were, for the most part, quite valid, even without punctuation... You have to read through it.

RE: Darkmatter v Bignds FPS debate

Really? Where can I get this Xcom?

Also, about the controls for the N64 and PSP. Golden Eye 64 uses the exact if not similar controls to PSP's FPS. So are you saying Goldeneye's controls were bad?

RE: What Game?...Hmm...

lol you gusy actually made a topic about it? with my name in the title? im touched.
oh come on my grammer isnt bad, i may have the odd spelling mistake here and there, but thats because i type so fast, and im talking to a million other people on msn at the same time.
about the mario commnt, you guys even hav to admit they are running out of situations to put our tashed friend in. im not saying i dont like mario spin offs as thats anything but, but darkmatter said sonywere milking out gran turismo when he was ignoring what nintendo are doing with mario. either then that i dont see any more argument here.

RE: Bundle of joy!!!

Your complete lack of capitolization is the major problem. Also, put more time into your posts. I am currently talking to people on both xfire and IM, but not a big deal. This isn't an IM, this is a forum. One of the main advantages of which being that you can take time to submit a well thought out and typed response.

Also, I'm not very familliar with the Gran Turismo series, so I won't pass any judgement there. Yes, I must admit I'm more than a bit put off with all these sports games. I'm not a big sports guy, so most of these havn't done much for me, though when I played them, they've been quite good. Now I'm very glad about them finally making a real mario game, Mario 128, the new revolution mario game (probably the same thing), the New Mario Bros. on the DS, which really makes me happy, and also Mario and Luigi 2. Essentially, they are getting back to real games with mario, like it should be.

RE: Re: RE: Hurricane Dennis =(

well. i. should. use .more .full. stops. then.

but why its a forum post not an english essay

and no i havnt played MGA but tubisoft made SC on the DS it may not look great but it does the job in the game play department.
so why could they make a low quality MG for the PSP making it a full 3rd person shooter coz i figured no one would buy it coz it wouldnt look pritty, but if they did make it, I would think twice about bagging the PSP , seeing it start walking down the road of gameplay over graphics, which is the reason i got a DS in the first place.

I would rather play a game then watch a game and thats what i feel MGA is a game that you watch

and i see there aleardy on the way for a MGA 2 yay

RE: Darkmatter v Bignds FPS debate

Darkmatter, don't ask me why, but it's much easier on the eye when forumites use correct punctuation, grammar, whatever. I agree with your points overall though.

NDS - just what are they taking out of First Hunt ? The touch-screen controls? That would be an absolute DISASTER in my opinion.
