I hate the auto-aim too, and I think it's cheap how it hurts me sometimes when I'm hiding behind something that it hits because of the large splash radius, but I tried using Samus and I sucked at using the auto-aim and morph ball (compared to most people that use Samus), so I don't think it's quite as cheap as you make it sound. I use Trace all the time because I think it not only takes loads of accuracy skill to use his alt form and affinity weapon, but I've gotten comfortable with him to the point where I have trouble winning against an equally ranked player by using another hunter.

I also agree that the "match my rank" thing is stupid, I was once matched up with a 1 star and a 5 star at the same time when I used it. They seriously need to make the rival (match rank) stuff more strict if they want to consider it a feature, I don't care if I need to wait a long time to get a single guy of my rank because I want it to do what it says it does and if I get impatient enough I'll simply search all ranks.

The one thing that I hate most about MPH is that there's so many disconnecters, more than MKDS. I thought they said the connection history would penalize players because people could look at the hunter license before they fight someone, which is completly untrue in the case of the search matchup. Out of some 20 matches, about 10 of them ended with someone disconnecting during a match when I was winning and causing everyone else to get disconnected (which is the case when the disconnecting player is acting as host, but of coarse without any extra options or even knowing it) or when there's only 2 of us and he disconnects. About 5 were mostly losses for me against higher ranked players as Samus and the other 5 were wins for me against people that actually care about their connection history or simply being fair.
I think they need to punish disconnectors harder by not only doing what they should've done and showing connection history before matches, but giving them at least 1 loss when they disconnect and the remaining players the ability to finish the game to determine who wins, or in the case of 2 players and 1 disconnects, the remaining player gets the win. Disconnecting should be just like forfeiting in a sport, which almost everyone should know means whoever forfeits gets the loss and the other gets the win.

Actually, it does penalize players. When my game froze (it keeps doing that for some reason, no lie), it took something like 5 points off. I completely agree that they should show the connection history before the game starts. I hope there is some way to patch wifi.

Saying that the autoaim is not as accurate is supporting my argument really so I have no complaints.

The headshot range is very strange (no rhyme intended). If I fire a powerbeam through the top of the opponent's head (the loser was standing still), it doesnt register as a headshot but if I fire closer to the torso, it works.

The Imperialist=Skill argument applies for anyone since the Imperialist is widely available on stages. It takes MORE skill to use the Imperialist when NOT Trace since you can easily be spotted and you must learn to fire accurately, faster so the enemy wont have as much time to countersnipe.

As for the alt of Trace, I hate using it since you have no way of jumping with it. If you hit, you knock the opponent back so you have to go and chase after them. I suppose it does require more accuracy but I personally think there are better alts out there.

It froze only once for me in a 4 player friend battle, which is my only disconnect. That means I believe you, but I'm curious why it would be happening to you a lot more than me or many others.

I agree with the Imperialist range, I sometimes have a little trouble getting those headshots at long ranges.

As for the Imperialist skill, I almost always shoot and move since the first shot would usually give my position away, and I'd say at least half the time I'm sniping while I'm moving around and many times at close range. I also like to snipe players when they're flying through the air since it adds a little challenge and gives me that sweet feeling of uber pwnage, but usually only when I'm in the lead against lesser skilled players. It's not necessarily the accuracy skill as it is the evasion skill, Trace of coarse requires less skill to evade enemy fire since he can hide under their nose, but knowing when you're spotted is a challenge since as you should know, Trace is always slightly visible when transparent.

Well, out of the 300 or so games ive played, quite a few of them were 4 player matches. My game freezes up even in one on ones though. My DS was troublesome from the start (that whining noise, creaky back panel).

Yeah, when I know im facing a good sniper, I always change into morph ball before crossing open ground.

I agree with what you said. It is a large part evasion, for example, Trace vs. Sylux on Alinos Gateway is a complete blowout.

I don't see a problem with people reviving old threads as long as it stays on topic and isn't trying to start an argument, it's good to know people are smart enough to use the search feature instead of making duplicate threads, so chill.

I use missles with auto aim lots cuase i inflicts more damage and well ya it homes on to targets oh yer every thinks syluxs shock coil is heck hard to evade it at close range just go in alt-form
