Should I, Or Not?

I was wondering if I should buy a PlayStation One. If you guys encourage me to, which I think i want one, I need to know what kind/and how many mem cards to get(prolly 1 if i have to have a mem card)and what game(s). i probly dont even have enough for a game and mem card. anyways, these are possible games:

Gran Turismo
Gran Turismo 2
FF7
FF8

If anyone has more, please tell me.

I mean it's kinda cool I guess (since it's so small) but I'd say get either BLEEM!

or just get a Slim line PS2... (Once the XBOX 360 P.O.S comes out it should be cheap)

I think you'll have to download bleem as I don't believe it's any longer for sale.

Although Bleem won most of the lawsuits launched against it by Sony, Bleem lost a lot of time and money in court due to these lawsuits. Combined with the lack of succes of their Bleemcast product and the fact that many gamers were moving on to newer, better systems eventually lead to Bleem's demise. As of November 2001, Bleem is no more.

And yes, you need the PS1 games on CD (i'm un sure if burnt copies will work).

I think bleem was a great idea, and I'm surprised Sony didn't just buy them out.
I can understand why bleemcast might not be that great for them, but even so, profits are made through sales of software (not hardware) ...

That said, I understand that bleemcast played PS1 games better then the PS2 did (because bleemcast emulated where as the PS2 had built in PS1 hardware).

There are some really good originals for PS1, Steel Reign is one of my favorites (it's a futuristic tank game). Several of the games I have are really good, even some of the sequels such as Jet Moto 2 or Ace Combat 2, although I might be saying that because I never played the originals. My collection list can be found here, you can ask me if you have a question about any of them.

I remember reading that Sony bought Bleem in order to stop sales since it wasn't illegal, Sony basically hates when the community does smart stuff (especially modifications) with their products. Anyway, you can download an emulator such as ePSXe, but they give a warning that it's illegal to have the PlayStation BIOS (which is required to use ePSXe) unless you own the actual console.

There are a lot more but I'll have to look it out.

And about those emulators, you get download ePSXe and get a controller that is identical to the PS and then just emulate it on your computer. BUT... PS is like $50 so, there's no point. I'd rather play it on the big screen.

just get a slimline. that way you can play ps2 and ps1 titles. makes more sense.
