Can I ask:
I haven't played Mario Kart DS online (yet, getting a router soon!); what the hell is snaking? Has anyone got a gameplay video of someone doing it? Is it simply the left, right, left, right, left, right (or whatever) technique, as I use that at turns, but it doesn't give me that much of an advantage as I lose ground on the turn.

That's simply using powersliding as it's intended, around turns. Snaking is when you powerslide back and forth right and left very quickly on a stright area, in order to gain lots of extra speed on a straight path. It's not extremely hard to do, but it's extremely annoying when someone very good at snaking does it practically the whole course and blows fair players out of the water.
Also, it's annoying how snakers never pick any courses that require skill (also known as fun courses), because that would make it harder to snake.

Here we go again-_-;, snaking IS a technique and annoying at that,but like i said before,if you dont master it,your gonna get your a$$ handed to you everytime,at least 1out of the 4 people you face in an online match will do it,yeah I was a victim at first,then I mastered it,going up in the higher brackets my score did,it's not really cheating,my definition of cheating is using Gameshark codes.Unlimited blue shell pwnage.

Technique... yeah. It's a cheat. The fact that people do it doens't make it any less cheating. The fact that it can take skill doesn't mean it's any less cheating. I can go on forever. It doesn't have to have a code to be a cheat. It's called an exploit. To not realize it you'd have to be a complete noob.

You want more solid proof? Watch the video of the match with the NOA developers. Even the developers don't snake.
