Snaking and Piracy

so me and shadow have been having an argument in the shoutbox about this... he doesn't think piracy is stealing, or if it is, snaking is a sin as well.

so first off here... Piracy is clearly defined as stealing. i don't understand how shadow can oppose this with his demented form of "logic". Definition: the unauthorized use of another's production, invention, or conception especially in infringement of a copyright.

unauthorized use of etc... so you take the stuff from the guy who sells it without paying for it. THAT IS STEALING, BTW.

and stealing is morally wrong, obviously.

Cheating: 'to practice fraud or trickery'

fraud or trickery... so when i snake, im tricking the other players? im afraid not.

since im not practicing fraud or trickery in mario kart, its obviously not morally wrong.

What is your opinion of Robin Hood?

he was a freakin' coward, if really wanted to help he wouldn't have just chilled in the woods and steal money from passerby. he woulda gone out there and stuck it to the man.

although i admit what he supposedly did did some good, because as the story goes, these people were like in life or death situations here without the food he brought them.

stealing is wrong but being charitable is good, as far as i know it cancels out.

but since the man never existed, it doesn't really matter.

Robin Hood only stole from the extremely rich and generally evil though, not any old passerby. Essentially, he stole from those who stole. However, technically they were in the right of the law and he wasn't.

The point is, how can you be sure what's stealing is stealing? What about those who "legally" take money and stuff in extremely unjust ways?

Oh yeah, and snaking isn't cheating, you just suck newb. (FTR, I still can't snake. Don't blame people who can though.)

Anyways, downloading episodes is fine, imo, as I do it myself. But to download it and sell it to others, then that is immoral. Gaining profit off other's expenses is a nono.

But if you were using that money to donate it to some sort of charity, then I have no problem. XD

its really not about the "law" here... its about the moral issues. so yeah, obtaining money in extremely unjust ways but still legally is still stealing
