There have been studies that prove that Video Games do cause kids to act out in violent ways but all in all, it ultimately leads to the parent's discipline.

Exactly what we're talking about. Parents not paying attention to what our kidsare playing. On the side note, if parents don't even know what their children are playing, how would they know what other illegal things that could be going on.

Not saying you are doing anything illegal, theONE ;) Well, not that I know of.

show me these studies man...

there was actually a great article about this topic in EGM, where they got the leader of the anti-violent video games to debate with a guy who has been working against these bans for years.

its not bad parenting, if your parent knows your responsible and in a right state of mind then theres nothing stopping them from letting you play.

But if your parents think you're irresponsible and not in the right state of mind but still let you play, then that's bad parrenting.

Besides, how can a parent predict how his child will react to the influence of violence? It's hard to tell, really. It's best not to even show it to them until they are more mature and more understanding. But that's kinda hard with television focused on sex and violence.

RE: Sony get serious

Well, I'm at the kind of age this debate involves - 14 - and occasionally when I feel a game is worth it (which it rarely is), I can get an 18 rated game.

Buying 18 rated games - especially GTA - is something that everyone at my age group seems to do. Playing games like this is just plain 'cool'. So, out of the fifty or however many play GTA in my age group, how many are going to become murderers? Not alot!

RE: theONEs sigs

I hate GTA, but on topic- like its been said its not all the parents fault, when mormon and i werent aloud to have some teens games we'd go buy them and hide them from our parents. Kids can just do that and their parents cant stop them.
