RE: Mine and Cole321
Well, there's nothing else to revolutionize save the controller. Unless they had some sort of 4D or something, but I doubt there's even such a thing as 4D. Maybe they could have the red and blue glasses which make cinema viewing uber awesome.
But yeah, I think the controller is the only real way and I think they may change the way we game. |

RE: Teh *offishul* PSP RPG topic...
Easily this is true. Look at the history of games. How has the Dpad changed things? It made them portable, more comfortable, and contributed to the popularization of consoles. Analog sticks? They've done even more. Without them respectably controllable 3D would be grindingly horrible. Sure, you can emulate these on other schemes, but you can't match their perfection, or various uses.

RE: Re: RE: The Revolution Controller Unvelied
u cqan have the best grtaphics and sound in the world but if u have a controller design that is 10 years old developers will have exhausted the possibilities on it. the current controller on all 3 consoles are based on designs that are very old. 2 sticks, 6-10 buttons and (in gc and xbox case) pressure sensitive triggers. The limitations of these types of controllers became apparent shortly after the PS2 was released. Unreal tournamernt was released and was widly regarded as inferior to the PC version. And it wasnt because the graphics were crap or the sound was rubbish (they were as good as the pc version) but because the controller wasnt up to the task. How a player interacts with a game is the most important part of any game. the revolutions controller allows for new types of games to be possible. PC games could finally work properly on a console. Fans of strategy games, FPS and other genres will love this new system because it gives power and control to the player.
Assuming the 360 controller stays the same for the next 5 years what can be done on it that cant be done on the xbox. well... u can have better graphics, better sound, alot of bad guys on screen....er.... fully destructible terrain.....err........ better physics.......... . the point is the games will be pretty much the same as the Xbox which is definately not very innovative. Users still interact with the games in the same way and wil get the same sensations and feelings. Power and ease of use. u deliver those and u have a great controller. the difference between revolution and PS3 and 360 is with PS3 and 360 ull press a block button to block an attack, with revolutions controller u can actually block it ureself with movement. thats my 2 cents anyway. |
