Let's see??? Umm?? Okay. Call Nintendo and tell them that the screen was so lose on it that when you had it in your pocket lint got in it. Or just tell them that you have had it for a while and you think it is a dead pixel. They should replace it for free. They are accountable for the lose screen. Am I right???

It will take a few weeks, at the earliest.

You only have 3 options:

1- live with it
2- send it in
3- buy a screen replacement kit

If you replace the screen yourself, you can remove all the dust, and reseat the lcd screen cover more securely than nintendo did the first time around.

If you are going to replace your screen, you'll need a "clean room," which is dust free, and well, since we all don't have those, you'll have to do this:

Turn on the shower for 10 minutes with hot water on full blast. Go in, turn it off, and give it a few minutes for the steam to settle, so that there's none left (you don't want any moisture in your DS). What the steam does is pull down all the dust in the air with it, giving you a clean room to work in.

*Use Latex Gloves! The grease from your fingers will refract the backlight something awful if you touch the side of the screen cover that faces the ds.

I sent my DS in on the Dec.15th (because of a dead pixel) Nintendo will pay for shipping. But I dont know when it will get back, it might be a while because of the Christmas season. So I suggest you wait until next year. But feel free to ship it a few days after Christmas. But you have to call Nintendo at :D 1-800-255-3700 :D so they can arrange your free shipping.

if you get a screen replacement kit, but you end up *messing it* up, you ruined your DS forever. You wont be able to send it into Nintendo to get them to fix it afterall, because opening your DS voids the warranty. So if you dont' trust yourself, I suggest either dealing with the lint, or sending it to Nintendo.
