DiddyKong Racing DS Review

Remember that game that made you glue your eyes to the TV screen and make you break your N64 Joy-Stick.
Well it's back and it's on the DS.
DiddyKong is back with all the classic RARE racing fun you have grown to love.
And with the DS touch/microphone capability, DiddyKong Racing is a great game for your collection of games.
But what makes this game so good so you would risk break your DS over?
Well
Its like a RARE version of Mario Kart DS but there is sooo much more things to do.
The story line is the same as the N64 Ver
With its Non. Linear story line you can race any track with out order, The reason is is because you start off on a world map (very RPG-ish wink wink) where you can drive to your hearts demise....
But you arent just confined to a Car , you can also choose to drive a Car, a Plane or a Hover Craft.
Controlling the Car and Plane is easy as Pie but controlling the Hovercraft is a different story you will bebreaking your stylis with thosw " I could've won" sharp turns.

And with the HoverCraft controlls you would think Id stop trash talking this game, bu you are wrong
The graphics having no upgrade from the N64 ver is looking alittle "Bleh"



Seeing the same layout as Mario Kart DS
You have to choose if you will or won



You will see very disturbing and grotesque little pixelated areas here and there but you can not go past the old N64 styled graphics with a 2d car and 3d player...ergh

Audio is quite alright, the Old Scores are there but that's the thing Nothing new not even a few bleeps,
and Nintendo are taking a step back taking out Voiece Over Audio for Charictors in game.


But controles sound and Graphics arent the major thing in a game (DS anyway)
But we need a story to fit in with it:
Well, The Island that all the RARE Charictors are stationed at is under attack by a debolical pig king, sothey send a letter to Diddy asking for help,
And because RARE isnt no longer sighned with Nintendo oncer and Abnjo are no longer in the Racer list ( I know big bumber)
And the game is you racing to collect a magic baloon so you can challenge the boss to collect a peice of tallisman to get to the final boss and defeat him to beat the game.....
BUT that sounds pretty plain
But there is something awsome to back it up



8 player online/local play
This has to be the best Multiplayer on a handheld that I have seen.
Theres the classic features like Single Race and Trophy Race
and there is also things that are completely new like
Custom Track mode, where you can make your owntracks and race them, and battle mode, whihch is quite unuque wth the fact is the aim is nt to attck ur freinds the aim is too obtain eggs and the one with the most eggs wins!

So all up
Diddy Kong Racing Is a great game to bye
if you want a grea Wi-Fi Experiance
But if you are looking for a game with a compeling story line you should stear clear fromn this
but wih a few exceptions with the graphics, everything is Randy Dandy
But I would of liked to see all the classic RARES on this though...

I was thinking of getting this game, but I wasn't sure if I would like it. I also wasn't sure what the multiplayer was like, but how you explain it, it seems great. Sadly, I have never played the N64 version of the game, therefore, I have no idea what it's about or what it should be like.
