Hey enough dissing the original GBA its all i got atm... there was no sales on for a blue DS and mario kart and i aint paying full retail ...

The screen is very dark, but most of the time i have a light nearby, only major problem is the lights for them break easily, or are just plain useless. But yeah key point the screens are annoyingly dark, and the slightest bit of glare makes em impossible to see...

I liked my original GBA all along and never really saw any problem with the screen being dark cause 95% of the time I have a light. I like the backlight on my DS because I can play in the dark or in the car at night, but for the most part that's only a luxury since even then I still have a light available, although I must say the DS screens are quite hard to see without the backlight and a bright light source like the sun. Glare is almost always a problem when you don't have a backlight, the DS is just as bad as the GBA if you turn off the backlight, all you really need to do is hold it at a good angle. It's also a big help to keep the screen clean, I've had my GBA for a good 4 years and it still looks like new, and I can see the screen clearly in any normal lighting condition.

I hereby stand in defense of my trusty original GBA...
