RE: Nintendo Releasing Wireless Router for DS and Rev
Remember those guys that jumped out of a plane and played mario? Well, we've got an even more difficult feat this time, and it really shows how protable the DS is.
Thanks to one of my favorite game sites, Nintelligent.net.
"After an adventurous 73 combined days, Neal Mueller and Chris Grubb successfully returned from the highest point of the world, Mount Everest. And what did they bring with them you ask? Their Nintendo DS's. Ten of them, in case some of them happened to break.
The duo arived at the foot of Mount Everest on April 6, and returned on June 5. Their DS's were some of the many pieces of electical equipment that they hefted up the snowy face of Everest, which included Lap Tops and MP3 players. Conditions at such heights and temperatures are not particularly favorable for electronics, as the pair noted:
"Our team went through seven MP3 players, they were breaking all over the place, we fried a couple hard drives…and broke the screen on our computer, our CB radios would break all the time… but the DSes help up amazingly well. It would get so cold that your hands would go numb, and they'd still be working."
All 10 Handhelds made it down the mountain in perfect working order, after which many of them were given to the Sherpas that helped Mueller and Grubb on their trek.
Now, all eyes are on Sony when they send a group of Gamers hurtling into an active volcano with PSPs next week."
