Wow these designs actually look rather good. It's obvious Nintendo will try to down-size the DS (or at least it is to me O_o), so just how they're going to do it could be interesting.

I personally like the current DS design and I think it's way too early to even announce a redesign. I think the DS has a bit more life to it than the Gameboy series, so a minimum of 2 years between redesigns (which is about the minimum space they did between GB versions). Unless I wreck my DS somehow and don't have warranty, and the price isn't as incredibly different as they have a tendency to do, I might possibly get one. So far I've never had a revision, only the originals (GB, GBC, GBA, and of coarse DS), and I'm proud to be content with them (I never really had the same lighting problem with GBA that everyone else made a huge deal about).
