Did you ever read the healt instructions for the DS? Naah, same thing.

You know why? It's just so dang boring to read ^^;
If it's licensed under the GPL (99% of my software) then I know what the licence is about, I read privacy agreements because I don't want some company giving my personal details away to a third party, usually I don't even register to something that needs any personal data.

Also how did you draw the conclusion that the DS made you throw up?

In the manual is says:
1. Sit or stand as far from the screen as possible -- I did the opposite... trying to find any dead pixels for an hour =/
2. Do not play if you're dired or need sleep Maybe playing till 2 AM wasn't such a good idea =/
3. Play in a well-lit rooom WOO! I did at least one rule!
4. Take a 10 to 15 min break every hours What's a break?

Hmm.... =/

I'd say that staying awake too late probably had the worst effect on you, lack of sleep can make you sick quite easily.
