I'll leave you my impression a little later,
but for now I have a couple questions. 1) I thought I could play games like Super Mario 2, but it's telling me it's 257KB and to big to play. -NESpack is included the pocketness 2) I have been having a little trouble withe video converter crashing my computer, anyone else having problems. - Likley a problem with my computer as i am running the latest software. 3) Anyone know any FC games that you can play with this thing (excluding NES ROMS) (is there a pocketGameBoy emulator) like any cool little apps or even mini-games. - get Goomba http://www.mxemu.com/utils.php - Tetanus On Drugs http://pdroms.de/file_details.php?fn=872 The file is 431.57kB but the game it's self is small enough to run - more GBA stuff here http://pdroms.de/typ.php?system=Gameboy+Advance Thanks... Drew EDIT: Thanks skabio

RE: A Good Deal?
Yeah,
I mean this is pretty cool, don't get me wrong, but i'm not liking all the shipping you have to pay for... that said, i should be able to sell it later... the Roms, pictures and e-books features are a nice bonus.

RE: A Good Deal?
A small flash game you can play is called tanis on drugs or something like that. Its like a drug fueled tetris.
You can't play nes roms over 256k. There is a program out there called nespack that will strip roms of their save abilities (not that you can save anyway) and will generally make them much smaller. This will help you to be able to play more nes roms using the movieplayer. Also there is a gameboy emulator called goomba that can be used on this player as well but good luck finding gb roms small enough to play (at least I couldn't find many). Lastly there are some gba homebrew things that are small enough to play on this player like a calculator and such. I post a link if I can find it. Oh and I havent had any problems with the converter crashing my computer. You might go to the movieplayer advance website and download the newest version. They have made quite a few improvements. Also as a side note it looks like they are makeing a new version of this player called M3 that I believe will use the touch screen. |

Not that the Movie Advance is perfect (more on later) but it's not fair to say that the Play-yan OWNS it. In my opipion DON'T BUY EITHER just now.. let me tell you what this thing costs. the cost of it was $25 (US) but i got $5 off on a $40 dollar order so i added a CF card reader, USB charger, head-phone adapter (cause i read on x999x's site that it was better to plug into the back) and 2 N64 controller key chains. That comes out to just above $35, add shipping and convert to canadian $59. plus, they charge an additional $13 at the door (cause it's from outside of Canada) so that's $72. I have a 128MB CF card in my camera and i was going to replace it with a 64MB (but those cost a ton). It would cost $35 dollars to buy a 64MB CF card at the store or $49 to have a 256MB card delivered to my house. so when you add it all up that comes to $121 dollars for this stupid movie player (and the playan cost 3 times as much as the movie advance) The exciting thing about the DS version is that the resolution is higher on the screen allowing for a nicer picture. In addition it's closer to the resolution of the SNES and NES allowing for better looking emulation. GBA 240 x 160 DS resolution 256 x 192 NES 256x 240 SNES 256 X 224 (512x448 rarley used) Even assuming the that the new version requires that the rom be downloaded entirley into the RAM of the DS (unlike the supercard http://www.supercard.cn/eng/index.htm) 4MB is still enough to run all GB/NES games as well as some SNES (and maybe maybe some GBA games) not to mention many more homebrew apps (possibly DSLinux or WinDS ;)) Additionally the DS' ARM7/9 are about 5 times the speed of the GBA's ARM7 allowing for more complex compression alarythms (better looking/sounding & smaller A/V files).
