So there's going to be two different Metroids? Unless that's the demo version.

Btw, you don't need a reason to buy a DS! :D

Cheaper than PSP and PSP games

I find that as a turn-off. They've been there for at least 20+ years! Why wouldn't they ever DIE! ;_;

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: How will FPS games be on PSP?

Here's my reasons for getting the DS:

If you have a PS2, like I do, the PSP isn't much different in terms of games. Yes, it's on the move, I'll give you that one. BUT, what's the point in playing the PSP on your way home from the bus stop, getting in and then playing near identical games on your PS2? To me there doesn't seem much point.

I, for one, don't like car/racing games too much. This was one of the big factors for getting a DS. PSP is churning them out - Ridge Racers and Colin McRae Rally 2005 are release games in Britain and the most over-rated series, GTA, is churning out another thoughtless game which will probably contain swearing for no apparant reasons.

Btw - just to let you know, you shouldn't need to be "convinced". At the current time, if I was you, I wouldn't get one at all - you need to have a good think what you want. Do you want great Graphics? Or prefer Innovation and potentially amazing things in the future (which the touch screen will undoubtably bring).

RE: Make me want a DS

Well also consider what you want to use it for.

If you intend this to be your primary system (that is, this one and only this one, with no current generation home system) and plan to use it mostly at home, (When I got my game boy, I didn't have a NES, or anything else until near the end of SNES life cycle) I would say PSP.

If you want a portable system to use in addition to a home system, as a portable system, then you don't want a PSP. It's to expsenive, it's not designed for use away from a power source for any prolonged time.

The DS can play GBA games so your likley be able to borrow a large selection from friends and pick up used on cheap.

Also, it your looking for a portable media center you don't want the PSP. With only 2 hours of battery life for movies, it's simply not praticle in this regards.

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: How will FPS games be on PSP?

Actually, the 2 Hours for movies only applies when everything is at max (minus the WiFi, of course). Max Brightness, Max Volume, etc. If you use it at average to low brightness, and with average volume, you can get away with 4-5 hours of video playback. Although, that may be shortened to 3-4 hours when playing a movie on UMD.

In my opinion, you should only buy the handheld in which you see suited towards your needs. If you prefer the more "new and innovative" style of games, then the DS is right for you. However, if those types of games don't appeal to you, and you want some more "home console experience", then the PSP should fit right within your gaming spectrum. Also figure in where you will play the handheld, what accessories are immediately mandatory (screen protectors, carrying cases, etc.), and what you want to do with the handheld.

You must factor in that if you are getting a PSP for media playback, that you must be prepared to shell out some money for some good storage. For music-only, the amount of storage shouldn't be too high. For movies or TV shows (etc.), then the amount of storage should be high. You may consider buying a Portable Media Player with a good-sized internal HD for a few hundred more.

The DS is all about the games, which saves you some money. Also factor in that some of the games will be lower priced than that of the PSP's games (except for the $39.99 priced games, which appear for both handhelds).

What it really comes down to is this: how much are you willing to spend, and how long you want to play the games. Or, if you have the money (which isn't the case with most people), get both. In my opinion, wait and see.
