A planet called Meteos has started to explode. Fragments of the planet become and endless stream of meteors, putting your planet in peril. There's only one means of saving the planet. Send the falling meteors back into space with the power of the Nintendo DS -- use the touch pen to move blocks around the play field, as lining up three or more of the same color blocks either horizontally or vertically will group the blocks together into a clump and go flying back into space to help stop the onslaught of debris. Meteos is produced by Tetsuya Mizuguchi of Space Channel 5 fame, and is designed by Masahiro Sakurai of Nintendo's HAL Laboratories. Features more than 30 planets, four-player multiplayer (one cartridge), and multiple gameplay modes

IGN gave it a 9.0 and Gamespot gave it an 8.5 with the comment that it's one of the best DS games.

i dunno, this better have something special init to make me purchase it. i know its said to fantastic and all but if it doesnt offer anything other then what every other puzzlegame does then im not buying.

of course im getting it, its my 3rd most anticipated game for the DS.

i've talked to a lot of people who have lumines and Meteos, and they say lumines gets owned. so does craig from ign.

well, than i dont think i want it. if its more like Pokemon Puzzle Challenge/League, then i definatly(sp?)dont want it.

It is tetris-ish, being that it is a vertical puzzle with falling blocks, but the general way you play/win is quite dissimilar. It has a much more frantic nature.

I put it as a 1-star "want rating" on my wishlist which I just published (aka emailed and printed) a couple hours ago, I wish I knew it was a 9.0 game cause then I'd give it at least 2 stars (might not seem like much but you haven't seen the rest of the stuff on my wishlist).
