Here is a quote from that website.

Quote:
Standard Compliance IEEE802.11b
If the webiste doesnt lie and the router is fully 802.11b compliant it will work.

RE: NEED help... will this work

Thanks man. You made my day after being yelled at by the customer. The funny part is that my manager stood up for me and almost kicked the guy out of there. LOL. Another funny thing that I realised today was that everyone listens to me more then our department's senior. Maybe thats because I was supposed to get this position but didnt want to. Like today for example I was in charge of everything and our senior didnt even open his mouth once. Thats maybe because everything that I said was resonable. Or maybe.......They are scared I will kick thair ass in Matroid Prime Hunters. HAHA LOL. They dont even have DS yet.

Sorry for that. I like to share my experiance with somebody and my GF was a sleep when I got off of work. So, sorry, once again, and dont mind me, PLEASE!

The Nintendo DS may communicate wirelessly via 802.11b, but it uses a proprietary protocol. Most wireless routers only support TCP and UDP; you'd be hard pressed to find one that supports IPX (although IPX can go over TCP).

Bottom-line: Your router most likely will not work with your DS. Nintendo will probably release a proprietary wireless router of their own that you can connect to your existing internet connection. This may be avoided if developers can program their games to use TCP or UDP, but I don't know if the DS will allow that.

Donkey Konga 3

I dont belive GENE is right here. Everybody that know something about networks has to be familiar with the OSI model. First two layers, Physical Layer and Data Link Layer, are handled by the hardware. Those two layers are part of the 802.11 standard. So even though protocols might be different DS is able to comunicate with your 802.11 router. I already said that first two layers are handled by the hardware, that means that, Network, Transport, Session, Presentation and Application layers, are handled by the software. So it is only up to the programer to make your DS compatible with you router or not. Rumors say that THQ is working hard on implementing TCP and IP protocols for the DS which leads to full online gaming, browsing experiance.

RE: NEED help... will this work

There is something else that wories me.

I am not afraid of "IF" because I know it will be online. I am more afraid of "WHEN".
