New DS trojan bricks your Nintendo DS

DS users, you can know longer feel like virus-free Mac nerds to the PSP fanboys’ PC dweeb—a trojan of the same kind as we saw before in the Trojan.PSPBrick has come to brick that dual-screened gaming device of yours, and we ain’t talking about the Neo DoubleGames here. So if you happen to be of the dubious persuasion to run 3rd party DS roms claiming to be hentai viewers (ahem), don’t come whining to us when you’re stuck with a fancy paperweight trying to figure how to restore your DS to a playable state.

well hey i don't do that crap, and the ratio for PSP viruses to DS viruses is 304:1. so its all good.

Really... I can't believe they're saying this. The PSPtakes a lot more viruses than the DS already, and so far the only support against a brick is a homebrew virus scanner.

Another weak point on the PSP is that you don't need any extra hardware to get the virus, so anyone could get it, while only a very small percentage of DS users spend $100 on hardware that plays homebrew and are the only DS users capable of being infected.
As for DS, it's basically common sense to be careful what you download, anyone with the money for that kind of hardware would probably have some degree of smarts. As for PSP, I'm not sure, but I don't doubt they could eventually become infected without the user knowing jibbly about homebrew.
