Im not sure... I agree with Karl and Chuddy.
Its good for people wanting to listen to MP3's on the DS but personally if I want to listen to music i'll get an MP3 player. My DS will be for portable gaming, nothing else. Unless Ninty release a Tea maker plugin for it..... |

i do see your point but as i said it will stop a lots of the arguments why the ds is not as good as the psp because you can now play movies and mp3 on the psp and ds.
(well in a few months anyway) and i will Probably end up importing it. |

If the DS was sold as a multimedia device, maybe I'd agree with you, but since this is marketed as an SP addon, it's clear that it's nothing more than a means for capitalizing on a market that Nintendo have not explored but has long been established on it's SP unit: Multimedia. Liksang has made thousands of dollars on it's unlicensed MovieAdvance player for SP. It's got a thriving community, and has been reviewed by most of the major gaming sites. To further justify such a venture on Nintendo's part, Sony's PSP can play multimedia by default, thus proving that there's a demand for such capabilities. Copying? No... Killing two birds with one stone? Yes... Lastly, if this device were a means to compete directly with the PSP, a couple of key points would have been made on Nintendos movie player: 1- It would have been made specifically for the DS 2- It would be launched globally, and not just on NCL's website (japan) |
