RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: PLay YAn

mb is MEGABIT

MB is MEGABYTE

BYTE is 8bits and Bit is 1bit... I think.

Basically, divide the mb by 8 and you'll get the amount in MB.

So, mb is NOT MB!

Okay,
x999x and others have been over this, but it's tricky.
Watch you b's and B's.

thaman092, 512 Megabits = 64 MegaBytes. I'm sure what you ment was 512MB is ok. (512MB is about 8 times the size of 512Mb X-ROM)

Likewise theONE: your SD card is very likley 256MB, or 4 times the size of that 512Mb X-ROM.
So if you have a 256Mb X-Rom you have 32MB of space for your mp3's (or whatever audio plays on the X-ROM, likley gbs)

So, when you read that the NDS cards go up to 1Gb, that means 128MB (half the space as the theONES SD card). And the UMD holds 1.8GB (about 14 times as much space as the NDS card).

EDIT:

I'm wondering, is it possible for Nintendo to create a larger capacity card without having to upgrade the DS?

Yes,
In fact they are working on it.

This happens with all cartrige based systems, notably the GBA.
x999x talked briefly about this isssue shortly after launch.

Keep in mind many games are done on the 64MB (512Mb cards), so once the cost comes down the more developers will be using the 1Gb cards.
