for Nintendo to be lying about the capabilities of the DS? I mean could the DS actually be capable of more, like being able to produce better graphics, cards having more storage on them they they are shown to have etc. I mean could one of Nintendo's upcoming announcement be that the Nintendo actually has higher capabilities? This way it could take the PSP by storm. I was just wondering.

well for the graphics part, they COULD do better and the cards COULD be better but they have been made smaller for the cost, hmm higher capabilities might be a possiblity though

Nintendo doesn't meanfully lie, the only lies I can think of now of recently was at E3 where they said the DS would be released with a new name and that it would wake up when others are nearby, but they found out "DS" was widely accepted by the community and I guess they didn't have time to implement the wake up feature. It's a good idea for them to say something like "we plan to have" or "it should" instead of "it will" when they don't actually have the feature working as they want it to or they don't already know what they'll rename it.

I believe Nintendo never said that the DS can't do better graphics or the cards can't hold more, AFAIK they don't mention any solid limits to the DS except in the system specs. As technology improves, I bet we'll see better graphics and bigger cards.

This IS possible, but first impressions have been made and don't you think Nintendo would want to show off all of it's capabilities pre-release? I don't think they would risk sales just to make a huge bang in 05.

I believe they put the wake up feature in the Japanese DS's, unless I'm mistaken.

hmm i have yet to try it, my friend has a ds but she lives very far away...hopefully ill be able to see her this weekend and try and see if my ds has the wake up feature cause i have a japanese version...

Does your friend have a Japanese DS as well? Because I think that it may only work between Japanese DS'

Aha! The Japanese DS' do NOT have the wake up feature. My cousin and i both have a JAP DS and the feature isn't there. Hope that helped! (we've tried with Mario DS and PictoChat)
