Rumor Control

I have heard a rumor ( http://ds.ign.com/articles/565/565138p1.html ) that ds will be released and sold on monday, the 15th. But the ds will be shipping from Washington on the west coast, while I live in NY. Most Nintendo games don't end up here until late night or the next day. This is extremely annoying. But I hope that gamestop will have a midnight opening for reserved gamers. I reserved it over two months ago. The only thing that annoys me about the ds is the fact that every launch title looks absolutely horrible, except for Super Mario 64, which I'm not really interested in. I will end up playing gba games till ds comes out with a good one, which won't be till early 2005. And by the way, ds will own that piece of crap sony is calling the PSP!

Hi Ace2Cloud, welcome to the forums.

1. Sadly not - we have to wait till the 21st for the DS. All rumours are false. If you're in Europe you have to wait till march 2005 so it's not too bad for you is it!? :D

2. Super Mario 64 will last you months on its own - but pick up Ridge Racer, which is awesome - i've seen it in motion and it is jaw dropping. (Review soon). Also I think you might like Spiderman 2 game. Although, i agree that the best games will be released next year.

3. Yes.. the DS will own that PSP :P

I have to tell you, I believe some people will be getting it on monday no matter what. I'd imagine only people in Wash. and the Northwest will be getting it, because the Nintendo HQ is in Seattle. Did you reserve it from Gamestop or EBGames? And thanks for the welcome!

Well, if people get it early then i'd like them to come and tell us what it's like. :D

Im importing my personal copy of the DS as i'm located in UK. However I have connections with many gaming companies over here and so playing the games on the DS is no problem. I'll be able to get all the latest reviews and previews still.. which is pretty good! :D
