9.5. At least. It's got insane replay value. The intense stat tracking, 30 planets to unlock in a creative fashion, and dozens of single player endings. It's also the first innovative puzzle game I've played. Ever. Since tetris.

9.5? For some reason, game magazines tend to differ with you a bit.

I wonder what Tetris DS would be then in terms of replay according to your grading scale, a 15 perhaps?

The game magazines simply don't give puzzle games good scores. I don't buy gaming magazines. All of them are biased in one way or another. Tetris DS is good, I'm sure, but I don't want to play it. It's Tetris. In fact, in attribution to this fact, Gamespot gave it a 7.2 I believe. Where they gave Meteos a 8.5 as I recall. Of course, the reviews differ. However, IGN gave Meteos and Tetris both 9.0. The reviewers disagree, but I attribute this to the fact that rating any falling block game above a decent tetris iteration is above them.

Probably because they aren't as awed by anything innovative in Tetris DS as they are Meteos. As for the general gameplay, Tetris was invented about 2 decades ago and that's plenty of time for people to get bored of it, but it's still recognized as one of the greatest games of all time. Meteos just needs some time to lose that initial impression, then will we know if it meets up to the lasting appeal of Tetris. Also consider the fact that it's really hard to compare those old classics to current games since things like graphics and controls don't seem nearly as great now as they did back then. There's many games that get above 9.0 press ratings and many after a year are thought of as a well-built game that's missing replay value or something. With that said, I think the replay value is the focus of Tetris vs. Meteos.

And I think Tetris DS is the place that replay value excels in. You have multiplayer wifi. That should settle it. An online option almost infinitely increases a game's replay value. Had I bought Meteos, the best I could possibly do is play it over a few times and maybe play the 1 person I know that actually has that game.

Personally, i think tetris is rather intriuing. You wouldnt believe the competitive value even with a single player game. Its one of those K.I.S.S. themes i think, Keep It Simple, Stupid.

9.5 seems about right. I got my game informer book today and they gave it around 9.5. Personally, if this game isn't like "Tetris Attack" I'm not interested.

Ugh, you persist to make judgements about Meteos as if you'd played it and traded it in. You obviously have never played it for an extended period. It's pure genius, but Tetris just doesn't do it for me. I've played tetris for years, it's old and tired. It may be OK for some, but I'm not big on playing the exact same game I have on three platforms already again, even with the cool extra options.

Of course it's nothing to do with Megaman, Megaman isn't Nintendo.
