Star Fox Command First Impressions

alright... so this game's been out for like 2 weeks now. what's your initial impression of this game?

right now... im thinking this could easily become my favorite DS game haha. the battles online are freaking intense, im lovin it XD. although im only Y rank, cause i've only played 3 ranked match games (9 battles).

features i love about this game:

non-ranked battles:
online you can do Free Battles, where you can hook up with friends or random people in 1v1, 1v1v1, or 1v1v1v1 and they won't go on your record(at least the random ones won't, i haven't played friends yet). i really like this because i can practice all my 1v1 or 4 player dogfighting here without worrying about having a crappy record. i can go try some weird expiremental crap to see if works or not, and i don't get the loss if it ends up not working =P. and 1v1 practice is great because im doing the league over at PMK and thats all 1v1, and 1v1 its pretty much a whole different game, so you need to practice it.

NINE different endings:
talk about sweet replay. if you've got a ton of time on your hands you can blow through the 9 endings pretty fast, but im really busy as of late and getting the 9 endings will take me a while. so far i only have 1.

single player strat:
im seriously loving the top-down strategy element of single player... as you might have been able to tell from my fire emblem/advance wars/starcraft obsessions, im a strategy kind of person. and kinda weird mix of turn-based/real time strategy is awesome, imo.

Looks good, it's probably next on my list as of now, but as I'm sure you know I need more money to get it myself. The non-ranked is a big plus, making the features of online DS games one step closer to what PC games are like.
Good idea calling it a first impression rank, you wouldn't want to run into the same problem that Nmaster had with NSMB.

This game is teh suck!!!

I don't know what they were thinking with the control scheme. It gives me hand craps really fast (worse than Metroid!) and it's nigh impossible to aim well. And the whole strategy map thing for 1-player is really lame...

strategy thingy - id rather have it star fox 64 style myself too, but u win some u lose some

Well, while me being an MPH fan hardcore I can see that this game is pretty cool. I like one player for only one reason and one reason only, because I love strategy games. One player really brings my Warhammer 40,000 skills into play. Slippy is probably the worst character I have played with. He can't lock onto enemies which really sucks, but his plasma shot is really effective. So I would give this game a rating of...
