When will the new shipments come

Many people say that you should buy a waranty in case your unit is defected. The price should be 10%-15% of the system's price for one year. Personally, i wouldn't get waranty...but would it be better to get one? :?:

The DS comes with a one year warranty according to nintendo, they say they will fix any broken DS unit within one year of purchase.

RE: Re: Waranty or no waranty?

When I voted I was thinking of the EB or other store warranty....I hate that junk. Think of all the money they make off of paranoid people if they end up replacing maybe a handful of systems. I also hate the preorder culture they seem to cultivate, but that would be another thread.

According to the DS manual: "This warranty is only valid in the United States and Canada."

>> ... but would it be better to get [warranty]?

Depends on the coverage you want. Most warranties offered by retailers are longer, typically up to three years, and have better coverage. Also, with the Nintendo warranty you have to pay for the shipping to and from Nintendo to have the device repaired. That can cost more than 15 bucks, which would make the warranty offered by your retailer a better choice as you don't have to pay for shipping and the process is much faster.

Re: FPS for DS?

exectly Gene: Best Buy's for example covers stuff like buned out pixels, dead battery, USAGE, demage done by dust, heat, humidity, and banch of other stuff. Plus they dont fix them they give you your money back. In two years one can help his/hers DS get a power sarge or something and get a new one. Sound like a plan?!?!

Beware the Best Buy warranty, I bought a MP3 player there and bought the warranty. A week later the thing just wouldn't turn on. I brought it in and they refused to fix it, saying that I must have "abused it" somehow. What crap.

RE: Day After Thanksgiving Sale Spoiler

chuddy_2001uk: If you don't live in US or Canada and are importing the Nintendo DS from either the US or Canada your DS will not be covered under warranty.

EMCF: They tried to pull that one on me once, but I was persistent and kept on reciting exactly what was on the warranty agreement and they replaced my video camera. They may try to make you believe that something isn't covered under the warranty; they may try very very hard. You just have to keep on pushing the issue.
