With the touch screen, you could expect the possiblity of a scratched or broken screen. Unless you treat things nicely and don't go crazy on the screen, do you think you would need a safe screen/screen protector? Even though treat my possesions, especially handhelds  , i still worry about scratched screens.

Well, thankfully, the ds has the clamshell design so it won't suffer much damage if its just sitting around in your glovebox.

You can buy a screen replacement from nintendo for $4 so you don't have to worry about scratches :-)

Yeah having that clamshell design really does give it a big advantage esspecially for small children who will no doubt be throwing it accross their room because their vitual sim date is going tits up but.... Can you fit the screen in by hand or do you have to pay a ridiculous amount of money for the Nintendo monkeys to fix it for you?

Watch out for cold though. When you leave it in your car, make sure its wormed up (the ds) befor you turn it on. Cold is very bad for LCDs
