My friend,
i too have touched the nintendo ds today at my local best buy and for some strange reason, no one noticed it except me. It looked lonely in the corner the kiosk was set up in. I sat and played it for about an hour. Now, i am not bias towards the ds or the psp. So my review is pretty legit. The first thing noticable about the ds is the size. It really is a bit smaller than what i had expected. Ill give the bad points i first noticed. First of all, playing alone with pictochat or metroid was not mind blowing. The X,Y,A,B buttons are very small and the plastic casing could have a makeover, but these are minute problems that arent worth worrying about. Now, on to the pros. The graphics although choppier than N64 are beautiful and fluid. The fact that it doesnt have anti-aliasing and texture mapping does not matter because the screens are so small it would not show with the resolution. The interface at the startup was also nice. The touch pad was unbelievably responsive and metroid played like a charm with the touch pad and stylus but what attracted me the most about the nintendo ds was the fact that it just felt right in my hands. It reminded me of the first time i put my hands on the original game boy. It just felt comfortable and its a feeling that really cannot be explained. Nintendo has done it again with another worthy handheld system
