Btw, as for my record - it was something like 29 W/ 26 L/ before I knew how to SSMT (or "snake") and it's 93 W/ 44 L/ now after learning the technique. And fyi, I only play on Rivals, so for the most part, anyone I face will be using SSMTs. If they aren't then they probably won't be doing too good against the other racers either.

yeah, i only snake as well. i have like a 10 game winning streak before leafgreen broke it(I'm still mad at you dude)

EDIT: In rivals you play against people at your skill, so if you have a record like LG then you will play really good people.

That's what Nintendo intended, true, but not how it is. I ran into someone with over 400 wins and 0 losses in a rival search, and based on my past experiences with many people over 4/1 ratio, I knew he was an insane snaker that lags, so I disconnected before anything else happened. FYI, my ratio is somewhere around 190/150.

It doesn't always work. Sometimes there aren't people of your skill level trying right then and there and it picks the closest thing to it. Also, not all snakers lag.

Btw, there are people with 90%+ win loss ratios out there who don't even know how to SSMT. I know this because I've backed across the finish line on several people who are supposedly good by their records and their stars.

That's because World/Region/Rival are all the same. It's a gimmick. Nintendo doesn't have to the technology yet to do such tasks.
