I don't know if that is entirely true. I was on another board the other day and saw a guy's code. I put it into my game, and there is no way he could have known mine. I was able to play with him, and he was probably baffled as to who I was.

Also, I played with a friend of his that was not on my friend list. So friends of friends work too.

In your friends list you'll either see the code and a message or you'll see your battle record with that person, if you see the code then it's not confirmed yet. Both you and the friend needs to be logged in and have each other on the list at the same time for it to confirm.

I might not be able to play for a little bit though, because our(My family and i's) wi-fi at home works, but i'm out-of-state with my cousins and other relatives that live here in pittsburgh. I live in Michigan. But i'm still probably going to find hotspots here.
