What do the stars mean in Hunters? Multiplayer status? Singleplayer beaten with 100%?

Stars are the ranking system. 2 stars is aquired by 40 wins I believe. Im guessing 3 stars is 100 wins.

I believe it goes up to 5 stars. One person on NWFC got 300 something wins within the first 2 days of launch, crazy...

I have 2 stars. =D

I saw a guy (probably the same one) with well over 200 wins (100% ratio) and only about 2 hours of game time. Either NWFC has a bug or he's hacking, or maybe just cheating by constantly killing an idle player (with a second DS and game).
