Nintendo Wi-Fi Support: hackers and rank matching
First, what I sent.

Making things as difficult as possible for the hackers to even play online would hopefully reduce them to an acceptable level, but right now it's infuriatingly unacceptable.
Also, on a less important side of things, why doesn't rank matching work as it should? It's especially noticeable in Metroid Prime Hunters when I do a search with Match My Rank and I get connected with three 1 star players, and I'm at 4 stars. As far as I can tell, Match My Rank is no more effective at matching my rank than the All filter. It should match my rank perfectly, always connecting players of the same rank in stars, regardless of how many players of the same rank are available at the time.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the server has the capability to handle both of these issues, unlike the game clients which are nearly impossible to update. Can you give me light on what is being done to take care of these problems?

Now the response.

Sadly, cheating in games (even board or card games) is an unfortunate fact of life. We do respect the fact that you, and many others, do their best to enjoy gaming without cheating. At Nintendo, we do our best to make sure that our fans are able to have a fun gaming experience.
One way we have been able to accomplish this is through the Friend Code feature. We introduced the Friend Code feature as a way of allowing gamers to build their own personal online gaming community by choosing to play only with those they know and trust. This way, players are able to create an arena where they can enjoy a fair gaming experience.
As for the rank matching feature, please understand that, while it will attempt to match you with players close to your skill level, there aren't always going to be players near your skill level who are looking for a match at the same time as you. It will find the closest matches it can at that time, but there's no guarantee that you'll always be matched with opponents that are similarly skilled.
Rest assured that your comments about this very important issue have been shared with the appropriate departments within Nintendo for review.
Sincerely,
Nintendo of America Inc.

I'm glad to see a personal response (or a response, period), not that I didn't expect it though. I didn't find out anything really new with this, but it rather clarified what they think of the matter. It makes me hopeful when they say "Rest assured that your comments about this very important issue have been shared with the appropriate departments within Nintendo for review", as if what I said could change the inner workings of NWFC.
