In Nintendo Power they occasionally give their records and tier lists. They allow snaking in their recorded time trials. (by recorded I dont mean video, I mean recognizing the time trial). They do frown apon it though cause it can cause repeditive stress injuries if done extensivly.

But yeah, the idea of a tourny is to do your best so long as you are not exploiting glitches you are usually good to go. We'll keep what you guys have said in mind though.

We tend to believe that Snaking is an exploit. We had a big debate about it, that went rather sour. The major defender had never played the game online...

ah I'll hold back on that. We'll just agree that its contriversal then. Hey, we could agree to "share" members. If we find someone who hates snaking in our forum who wishes to be part of a clan, we can direct them to you guys. And if you have someone who is seriously bent on Snaking you can send him/her to us, lol!

however snaking in the tourny, at least this time around, is completely up to the director of this tourny. He originally created it at smashboards.com (SWF), and he decided to move it to our forum. This tourny belongs more to our forum then our clan.

Sorry for the inconvenience but our forum greatly believes in the use of snaking. We do not condemn it, instead we teach how to do it. And we do not believe that Nintendo disagrees with snaking. And neither does this guy. BTW this e-mail is from Nintendo.

If you wish to continue on your stance of anti-snaking, I feel like it might be a bad connection for our clan. You may still enter the tournament, but be aware if you cry about snaking, nobody will listen.

BTW I am the one running the tournament. That tournament is run by me and not the Clan KO staff.

anywayz of course nintendo disagrees with snaking, a whole lot of people have stopped using the online service because of it(thats not good for business) and seriously i don't believe nintendo put it in on purpose until an actual spokesperson says it, thats probably just that one guy's opinion.

especially the "i need it to keep up with the guys up front" bull crap, i played 80 matches before meeting a snaker online, if you suck so badly that you need to snake to keep up with the non-snakers you've got some problems

Hey man, that's not exactly a high-ranking nintendo executive. I've gotten lots of stupid letters from them. Even if that is real, it seems very much just to be that persons opinion. This isn't the place for debate however.

Ok so at least that guy at Nintendo likes snaking, I'm not so sure they intentionally put it in for the snaking though, just the turning. I want to see an opinion from the people that made MKDS, especially whoever directly had a say in including the feature.
True, most people need to use it to keep up, even if they can't do it worth crap, I use it myself when I'm up against another snaker, but there's also a lot of us that prefer the classic style of MK racing or the general style of any racing which is going in a straight line on a straightaway. I think the best way to keep everyone happy is to have 2 types of tournaments, one for snakers and one for non-snakers.

hmm, this would be very fun, I am familiar with fun clan matches from SOCOM . The only thing that worries me is the fact that there is no lobby on MK so its hard to organize. Even with the lobby, I still might not even participate. I am not sure about participating here, because I really don't have much time(as you can see I don't post much anymore). Now, you might be thinking I don't like your site becuase of previous arguments with PMK, but I HATE that site, and I honestly would join yours, If I had more time...That being said, I might sign up if we have an official word from an admin about our clan competing
